.It's time for the value of our extraordinary collective investment to be unlocked!

Each year South African companies invest the largest share of their corporate social responsibility budgets in education. Yet much of this investment takes place without collaborative context, strategy or planning. As a result, the investment & development outcomes are diluted and much leverage is lost.

South Africa's companies recognise the importance of education for a safe and productive society and 92% of corporate respondents polled for Trialogue’s 10th CSI Handbook invest in the area of education. The largest proportion of corporate social investment (37.6%) is spent on education (R1,2 billion in 2007) and the Department of Education’s budget is currently more than 100 times this. Therefore, to achieve leverage and realise maximum impact, there is a need for strategic alignment and coordinated monitoring, such that outcomes can be tracked and meaningful results achieved.
