Tenth annual East African Power Industry Convention the most successful ever!
The tenth annual EAPIC kicked off to a great start with the keynote speech by the Honourable Kiraitu Murungi, Kenya's Minister of Energy, on 17 September 2008. The Minister spoke to a capacity audience about the Millennium Development Goals for 2015, and the role of the energy sector in achieving these goals.
The conference attracted over 420 delegates from 17 different countries, and the feedback from all was overwhelmingly positive.
The organisers extend special thanks to the host utility, KPLC, and to the EAPIC 2008 sponsors, namely Trans-Century, Kenya Commercial Bank, Copperbelt Energy Corporation and Areva, who all contributed to the success of the event.
Next year’s event in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, should prove to be even bigger and better, as we will be incorporating our traditional East African Power Industry Convention into the first ever iPAD East Africa, which will focus on infrastructure partnerships for African development.
