About the event

Securing funding for infrastructure projects, both large and small, can be a challenge for even the most experienced project developers or leaders.  Yet, infrastructure development is one of the cornerstones of any country’s growth.  Funding infrastructure however, is costly, risky and generally has long maturity (anything from 5 – 40 years).
Historically one of government’s roles has been to fund and manage infrastructure assets for the good of the population. Today, however, this role is increasingly being questioned - both in terms of the cost to taxpayers and as to whether government can deliver as efficiently as a private company competing for the privilege. The question is – what form of funding is best for my project – private, public or a combination of both?

The reality is that there is a role for each permutation of financing for infrastructure, be it purely on a project finance basis, public private partnerships, public or private funding.  This workshop will give attendees insights into the various options, the timelines for consideration and insight in risk management and legal contracting.
iPAD East Africa is pleased to announce a workshop on Infrastructure Finance which will be hosted alongside the 12th EAPIC conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

Why you should register for this workshop:

  • Meet with key stakeholders in both public and private funding institutions.
  • Find out what kind of investment it is estimated East African will need for power development
  • Get the inside track on how to package ‘bankable’ projects and what a realistic timeline looks like
  • Understand the types of insurance available and why these are vital to your project security
  • Debate risk mitigation strategies with the experts
