The inaugural ESI Power Industry Personality of the Year award reflects and honours the contributions of individuals – established names, new thinkers and rising stars - across the East African power sector who have contributed to the growth and development of the power sector between 2009 and 2010.
Nomination Criteria
- An individual who has brought thought and action leadership to bear, with a charismatic presence, business vitality and dynamic flair
- The ability to evolve and adapt to market, economic and industry challenges
- Excelled in delivering outstanding performance and is regarded a role model by industry peers
- For clarity of vision and best practice in the business and the industry broadly
- Inspires others with extraordinary vision and zeal.
- Delivered a major contribution to the advancement of convergence with other industries
- Has a track record of consistent overall market/regional/sector leadership
- An individual that made a difference to/for the industry in 2009
- Contribution to the projects sector through both corporate and social responsibility.
A nomination of no more than 500 words is requested, outlining the nominees role in fulfilling the criteria mentioned above. Other considerations include:
- What is the present role of the nominee in the power sector?
- What is his/her educational and professional background, and how long has he/she been in the industry?
- Why do you feel this person should be recognized as an outstanding industry leader? What is the significance of his/her accomplishments?
- Please enclose a résumé or CV along with any other supporting documentation.
Nominations are due by 10 August 2010. The awards will be presented at the opening session of the 12th EAPIC conference in Nairobi, Kenya on 1st September 2010.
