The second ESI Africa Hydropower Africa conference will be held in July 2009 in Johannesburg. It follows the resoundingly successful Hydropower Africa 2008 conference held also in Johannesburg last year which attracted over 100 industry experts.
This forum – the only high-level niche conference focussing on hydropower generation project implementation in Africa – brings together government and utility stakeholders, financiers and investors, engineers, consultants and environmental specialists and the broader utility community.
Incisive presentations, panel discussions and specialised sessions will provide practical guidelines and open up real discussion, facilitating solutions and partnerships that will realise the full potential and benefits of implementing small and large hydropower projects in Africa.

The Hydropower Africa 2009 programme is developed to provide a forum that identifies, discusses and forecasts developments in hydropower in Africa. Top-level speakers will present their views using case studies, in-depth sessions and interactive panels. The Hydropower Africa 2009 management team is constantly searching for speakers who can share new and innovative experiences and visions.
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 27 January 2009
