Consultants needed for NamPower’s small hydropower projects along the Lower Orange river
NamPower, Namibia’s power utility, asked consultants to bid for the proposed development of the 100 MW run-of-river Lower Orange Hydro-electrical Power Scheme (LOHEPS).

South Sudan to build 11 hydropower plants
According to a government official on Saturday, eleven sites in the semi-autonomous region has been identified by South Sudanese authorities to build hydroelectric plants to exploit the White Nile and other rivers.
The oil-producing south will vote in a referendum on secession on January 9 and is widely expected to become an independent nation. Southerners will be building a country from scratch after decades of civil war destroyed what little infrastructure there was in the fertile region.
