Thank you to all VIP’s, delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors that made the 6th West African Power Industry Convention and Infrastructure Partnerships for African Development (iPAD) West Africa 2009 a great success!
Over 200 participants attended the event. The conference sessions were very well attended by private sector, government, and utility stakeholders. Additional highlights included a luncheon sponsored by the Electricity Company of Ghana and a high-level evening networking function which provided a distinct opportunity for delegates to interact. This leading power and investment forum united investors, vendors, utilities, consultants, academics and industry leaders from across the West African region and sub-region.
The exclusive conference programme included addresses from H.E. Dr Joe Oteng-Adjei, Ghana’s Minister of Energy and H.E. Alhadji Collins Dauda, Ghana’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
WAPIC will take place again in 2010 and will once again focus on the regional power sector, looking in-depth at power regulation, generation, renewable energy, rural electrification, distribution and transmission as well as the investment and business environment in the West African region.
