About Smart Grids India
Smart Grids India will be co-located with the 2nd annual Metering, Billing/CRM conference and exhibition and provides a platform to discuss the transformation that is taking place in the utility industry.
According to Anil Razdan, Central Power Ministry Secretary, India’s demand for power is increasing at an annual rate of 8-10%. While the CEA is preparing a national electricity plan for 12th and 13th Plan periods and ‘Electricity on Demand by 2012’, the Smart Grids India conference and exhibition could not be more timely.
The event will look at how India will be able to ensure supply security in the future. It will discuss the infrastructure requirements to modernise the grid and to turn a ‘dumb grid’ into a ‘smart grid’. Only by implementing new technologies and upgrading the ageing grid will Indian utilities achieve the ambitious target set by Powergrid, the central transmission utility under the power ministry to provide ‘Power to all by 2012′.
Smart Grids India is the only event that is strategic, yet focused enough to highlight new opportunities, renew and build relationships, and to bring knowledge and solutions to the challenges of supply security for the future.
