The second South African Curriculum Advisors and Teacher Support (SACATS) conference will be held from 7 - 9 July in Johannesburg. It follows the resoundingly successful SACATS 2007 conference held in Cape Town last year.
This year's theme is "Back to the classroom". South Africa's leading experts in education will share new thinking about teacher development and success in the classroom. SACATS 2008 will offer a variety of practical experiences to enhance the critical role of Curriculum Advisors and others involved in teacher support.
This is a unique forum for Curriculum Advisors, Learning Facilitators, Subject Advisors and Curriculum Implementers from across the country. It also brings together key stakeholders from the Departments of Education, universities, education funders, and other institutions involved in teacher support.

Pre-conference workshops – masterclasses on coaching and mentoring for curriculum advisors as well as project leadership in education

Minister of Education to present awards
Following the theme of celebrating success, SACATS 2008 hosts the Curriculum Advisor Appreciation Awards. These awards, given in recognition of the commitment and dedication shown by outstanding curriculum advisors, will be presented by the Minister of Education, Naledi Pandor.
