Making future energy sustainable and efficient through smart metering and grid technologies

Canada’s energy industry has positioned itself at the forefront of smart grid and smart metering technology, infrastructure and implementation. However the country faces several large and growing challenges on the energy front and there is an increasing recognition that governments must work together with industry and other stakeholders to address these challenges. While there has been significant focus on addressing supply issues, there are economic, social, health, environmental, and energy security benefits in achieving greater energy efficiency and energy demand management.

As a pioneer in the industry, driven by conservation protocols and environmental awareness, Canada and particularly the province of Ontario, provides the ideal location in which to host a dynamic and informative event for next generation utilities.

The Smart Energy Canada 2009 conference will explore using the meter and the smart grid for energy efficiency, the future of the smart grid, increased involvement of the consumer as part of the energy efficiency solution, demand response management, AMI and sub-metering technologies.

Smart Energy Canada is designed for stakeholders involved in the utilities sector including representatives from electricity and gas utilities, consultants, technology providers, regulators, policy makers as well as end-users who wish to optimize their investments in the future of Canada’s utility and energy infrastructure.

The event will give participants opportunities to compare best practices, particpate in interactive panel discussions, gain in-depth knowledge and network with industry peers while showcasing how smart technology implementations and strategies can help increase your markets and improve energy efficiency and conservation programs.
